Joshua B. Good, editor – Journalism has paid my bills since 1989. I worked as a reporter for the Sparks Tribune near Reno, Nevada; the Las Vegas Sun; Salt Lake Tribune; Atlanta Journal-Constitution and Tampa Tribune. My freelance stories have appeared in the Los Angeles Times, the San Francisco Chronicle, and the Weekly Planet (now Tampa’s Creative Loafing). I have written about Christmas at the Mustang Ranch bordello, free-speech graffiti artists in Las Vegas, people who believe there are live aliens at Area 51, a barefoot Mexican boy who rode a freight train 600 miles to find freedom and food in America, and a civil rights leader named H. Rap Brown who turned out to be a cop killer. In 2005, I left the Tampa Tribune to earn a bachelors degree. I graduated in May of 2007 with a creative writing degree from the University of South Florida in Tampa. I started www.bannedmagazine.com in January of 2007 to cover a beat about why some stories never get told – censorship and secrecy. Right now it's a one-man operation. If you want to tell your story, want to contribute a story, or just let me know what you think, please email me at editor@bannedmagazine.com.
