i want to be a successful makeup artist for runway and fashion magazines in NYC. How do I do it?
I’m in beauty school right now but it’s mainly about hair. Still a cosmetology degree will look great when it comes to being hired for makeup jobs. does anyone have suggestions for the steps I should take after I graduate??
You should make up a Portfolio of some of your make up work. Take a lot of photos of the people you work on . This way when you go to apply for a position and they ask you what you have done, you can show them your portfolio. Take before and after pictures of your work. Lots of luck to you and learn as much as you can about makeup and hair styles before you apply. Also make yourself a nice resume to send to them and give them as much information as you can think of. And make it very presentable for them. No mistakes if you can help it. have one of your friends go over it . Remember this, first impressions are the ones they remember the most.
Make the photos 8 X10′s and have about 30 all together 15 before Pics and 15 after you are done the makeup and hair.again good luck to you .
