Why are cars cheaper in Canada?
I recently spent the weekend in Toronto (im from Buffalo) and every car dealer I saw and the magazines with used cars in the them were all advertising the same cars ive been looking at in the US for less!!! For example an ’03 Nissan Maxima in the US is around $11,500, the same car w/ less miles (i converted the km to miles) was $8,500 and thats in Canadian, with the exchange rate where it is thats even less!!! What am I missing, because its not just that car its all of them!!! But also are there any stipulations to buying a car in Canada and bringing to NY state????
probably because canada does not have strickt emissions standards or high customs taxes. But could also be the demand for such cars in canada. Also, its very hard to import cars to us as they have to meet many standards that other countries do not.
