Do you think the Irish will return like the Welsh?
When you consider that Ireland has done everything possible to encourage people to speak Irish Gaelic. We have everything you are Welsh speakers, we have our own television station in both the Irish Republic and Northern Ireland, with a range of potential reach 6 million people, we have five radio stations in the Irish language, Irish language days / week / month with periodic increases circulation youth magazines, software, Internet sites available in Ireland and the Irish Human Rights Commissioner of the Irish is also the official language First the state and official languages of the EU 21. But, after all, only 20,000 people in Ireland who are native Irish mother, while another 350,000 people are speakers and 1.5 million have some words or a basic level in Ireland. In short no. IMO is to how it is taught in schools, the curriculem should be revised. We spent 13 years learnign language and only a handful of speakers, and are those with a natural talent and passion for language, while in other countries that teach their children in English and fluency by the time they graduate elementary school. It is a loss of time, money and effort and a minute trying to keep it alive.
