  • PC Welt is the German language edition.

[Change] Controversy

In May 2007, McCracken, suddenly resigned in controversial circumstances. According to sources quoted by Wired magazine, McCracken quit soon because the new PC World CEO Colin Crawford, tried to kill a negative story about Apple and Steve Jobs [4]. Crawford responded, calling the news McCracken's resignation "inaccurate." [5] CNET later that McCracken had told my colleagues that IDG 'pressure on the to avoid stories that were critical of major advertisers. [6] [7] On May 9, Crawford was transferred to another department, returned McCracken PC World [8].
