Rem 870 help?
I have a Remington 870 (18″ barrel, Mag extension, HD version, etc.) and was wondering if I could find a magazine cap for it that doesn’t have the extension. I was gonna get a new barrel (bird hunting) and then get a new magazine cap for it so I could hold the legal limit. So far, all of the magazine caps I have found look like they screw on on the outside of the magazine tube. My extension screws on in the inside of the tube, therefore it would not accept the magazine cap. Are there any magazine caps the would fit that screw on on the inside of my magazine tube just like my extension?
If I can’t find one, I’m thinking of selling it and buying a Nova Pump with 3.5″ chamber.
Sorry.You are out of luck. ALL regular 870 Express & Wingmaster Magazine Caps are threaded on the inside, and screw onto the tubes with outside threads. You have found the one drawback for your particular model…..
NOTE* Had you bought a Regular 870 Express without the factory magazine extension, you could switch back and forth from extended magazine to standard magazine with ease in just a few minutes…
