Ugly Betty is an American comedy-drama telly serial publications made by Silvio Horta, which premiered on ABC on September 28, 2006. The serial rolls about Betty Suarez, an humdrum and good-natured girl, and her incongruous job at the ultra-chic New York City fashion magazine Mode.

Betty’s co-workers at Mode let in Marc St. James (Michael Urie), Wilhelmina’s openly gay and fiercely loyal private supporter; Amanda Sommers (Becki Newton), the attractive and vacuous receptionist who is Marc’s champion friend, Betty’s frenemy, and Daniel’s last lover; Christina McKinney (Ashley Jensen), a needlewoman who becomes Betty’s best friend on her first day of work; and Henry Grubstick (Christopher Gorham), a nerdy controller who is Betty’s love concern in seasons one and two. The Meade family lies of father Bradford (Alan Dale), a distant man with a history of infidelity; mother Claire (Judith Light), an alcoholic who serves as a mother figure for Betty and a touch for Wilhelmina; and older sister Alexis (Rebecca Romijn), a virile to female lesbian who has a controversial human relationship her father and brother. Bradford exits the show during its second season; both Christina and Alexis leave during the third time of year.
