How do I go about creating a magazine?
I want to create a magazine with my friends. What software should I use for layouts, etc. and how should I go about getting the pages bound? I found a few sites online that bound them for about $5 but anyone know any good ones?
Setting up a hard copy magazine is bound to be expensive. That’s the advice I got, so I’ve started out with an online magazine ($40 for the website). I’m not crazy about how the site is laid out, but hopefully as I work more with it I can make improvements. It’s good that you have friends working with you on this. It’s going to be a lot of work.
One thing I considered doing was talking to our local thrifty nickel paper to see how much it would be to print a mag. That might be one way to go. Unfortunately, that paper isn’t open anymore in my town, so I couldn’t check on that idea.
