magazine titles underlined
Are you supposed to italicize or underline magazine article titles?

Neither. They go in quotes. Longer, separate publications (the titles of books) or magazines themselves are underlined, which is the same as italicizing.

In last month’s copy of _Harpers,_ I read Alan Greenspan’s “Why Paul Volker Was Right About Trusts.”

“Thirty Days to a More Powerful Vocabulary” is a regular feature of _Reader’s Digest._

Yahoo Answers does not let one italicize, so I have to use these underlines to signify the beginning and end of italicized or underlined material.
