Will I manage to get into Harvard College?

I’m a high school junior. I took sciences and math throughout highschool. I enrolled in the CIE O and A Level program. I have 4 Bs and 24 As in my transcript overall. Also I have been in the top 5 of my class throughout highschool. I have a 2310 on my SAT and over 93% in my SATII. I won a gold medal in my school for high achieveing performance in my exams.

I have taken part and won prizes for debating and poetry writing(urdu).

I have been tutoring 7 kids for five years as a part of “developing your neighbourhood” program.
I can play guitar, am bilingual, can do calligraphy and am a photographer.
My articles have been published in the national youth magazines and I have organised various events both for school and otherwise.
I collected $10,000 for the earthquake fund in Pakistan and I have work experience at different places.
I am worried about the Bs I have in my transcript. Do you think even after those Bs Im still a strong applicant for Harvard?

You are qualified to get into Harvard — and you will get into some very good schools.

Harvard only accepts 8% of those who apply. If we assume that 50% are qualified (and I think the rate is higher), then they reject 84% of the qualified applicants. Therefore the odds are against you.

In order to get in, you need to stand out. Many people think that their extracurriculars will make them stand out. However, they are easy to pad and hard to verify. Your admissions essay and interview will be absolutely critical.

Good luck.
