Help any ideas???? (Lord of the Flies)?
Create a newspaper, using the book, to inform the reader (teacher) of events that happened in the text. Fashion your newspaper, similar to the ones that are available on newsstands (i.e.Star Ledger, Bergen Record, NY Times, New York Post, etc.). Each article, chronicling an event in the story, should have the basic newspaper format of who, what, when, where, why.
-Include catchy headlines, and title for your newspaper
- Draw or cut out pictures from magazines, newspapers, etc, to coincide with the written article
-Besides important events in the book, additional sections to be written in your newspaper are:
1) Opinion/Editorial on a particular event. The op/ed should be written from the point of view and voice of a character in the book.
2) Write an additional article relating the events that you think will happen to the boys after their return home.
hmmm… this is so cool… i wish i had assingment like this when i read lord of the flies… this shouldn’t be a problem unless you haven’t read the book… check out a newspaper… it’s layout. make the main story of the novel the headline and go from there. oh, and it would be cool if you did like a political cartoon… maybe on how the kid with the conch is like a little tyrant. well, what do you think the boys will do after they get home? will they adjust to life as quick as they adjusted to the island?
