CAn u Help me Answer these questions…nd explain them… plz..
1-) This year 18.75% more students have joined the Long Hill High School Drama Club. The records show that 6 new students have joined. How many students were members last year?
2-) The original price of a Sportmaster 300 fishing pole was $37.80. The price has now been discounted 15%. What is the amount of the discount? What is the sale price?
3-) Since the beginning of the year, the number of subscriptions to New Tech Magazine has increased by 180%. The number of subscriptions is now 140,000. What was the number of subscriptions at the beginning of the year?

0.1875x = 6 (x = members last year)
Divide by 0.1875:
x = 6 / 0.1875 = **32**
2-)
0.15 * 37.80 = amount of discount = 5.67
The new price = 37.80 – 5.67 = 32.13
3-)
2.8x = 140000 (x = beginning of the year)
Divide by 2.8:
x = 50,000
As a rule of thumb, to make a percent into a decimal, move the decimal place over twice to the left: for example, 15% = 0.15
If you have an increase of 180% for example, that means you have the original number (x) PLUS 1.8x (the increase) That means that in total, you actually have 2.8x, not just 1.8.
