title of magazine underline
Anyone good with writing conventions?

I’m writing a report in Enlish class and I found myself stuck on something. Does anyone know if song titles are put in quotations, underlined, italicized, or any other thing of the sort? My text book mentioned that the titles of books, magazines, newspapers, etc. were to be italicized but I dont have it on me and I dont remeber if it mentioned song titles or not.

The context that it is used in is: “The next morning, Spin Like a DJ blasted out of my cell phone speaker and it began to vibrate on the table next to my couch.”

Obviously, the title of the song is Spin Like a DJ and surely anyone would know that from reading it but this IS for an English class so I know that I’ll get points docked if I’m not using my writing conventions correctly. If anyone could help me it would be much appreciated.

Quotation marks

If something is originally published or sold alone (magazine, newspaper, CD, book, painting, boat), the title is in italics or underlined.

If it’s originally published or sold as a part of something else (poem, newspaper article, song, etc.), the title is in quotation marks.
